A fresh start for a new season means that 2017 Topps Series 1 Baseball works with a new design alongside a familiar layout. Once again, Hobby boxes offer one hit while Jumbo brings the box yield to one autograph and two relics.

Likely a plus for many collectors, the 2017 Topps Series 1 Baseball design removes the cloudy corners of 2016 to feature a more traditional, full-bleed look. The most obvious design element comes into place with the large text portion at the bottom that showcases two overlapping frame corners where the player's name, team and position can be found. The two frames are "attached" by the team logo. While the removal of the smoky element should please purists, the angled text might ruffle some feathers.
